A problem you encountered and how you solved or managed
Housework is really a troublesome chore to me. I never managed to complete my housework duties assigned to me without encountering any hiccups along the way. This traumatizing experience is still etched deeply into my memory. I came back from school one day and my mum asked me to do some housework and help out in spring cleaning as the lunar new year is approaching. After cleaning heartily for a while, my mum went out do buy something and told me to tidy my room seriously and not to joke around. As soon as my mum left the house, I started cleaning the windows and door in my room. I stared at the thick layer of dust that covered every inch of the room and wondered when was the last time I made an effort to clean my room.Housework is really burdensome and annoying task to do! A short while after my mum left, I felt bored and decided to rest for a few minutes. Well, I sat on the sofa and started to slack and relax. As I had nothing to do and was bored, so I took the broom on my hand and started swinging it around. The feeling was great and exuberant and if anyone were around, they would have thought that I was crazy! Just as I was feeling spirited and happy, my nightmare came true!As I swing the broom around my head, the broom hit my mum'svase and it fell on to the ground and smashed into pieces. A sense of guilt overcame me as I watched the pieces of porcelain lie shattered on the ground. Oh no! The vase was my mum's favorite and was the most expensive vase that she had ever bought. I knew that I was in deep trouble. I would definitely get reprimanded by my mother when she comes home. Oh no! My thoughts were whirling in my mind. I was in a dilemma. My mum would be back home in a few minutes time. I had no more time to waste. I quickly threw my broom aside and started picking up the shattered pieces of porcelain with my hands. Right at this moment, I heard the key turn in the keyhole and I knew that my mum was outside the door. Anxiety and fear flooded my heart. Ouch! Owing to my clumsiness and nervousness, I scratched my finger while picking the shattered pieces of porcelain and soon blood oozed out of my wound. The door opened and my mem stepped in. She saw me sitting on the floor with teary eyes and bloody fingers and knew what went wrong. Without any hesitation, my mum put down her groceries and went to fetch the plasters and antiseptic lotion. As she cleaned and wrapped my wound, I admitted to her that I broke her favorite vase and I was expecting her to scold me for not doing the housework seriously. To my surprise, she told me that safety was more important than her vase. Safety is more important than the money required to buy the expensive vase. From this accident, not only did I learn my lesson to take housework seriously, I realized that money is only a form of materialistic assets and that kinship is the most important thing of all.
